Cherries and Oranges, 12 x 12 inches, oil on canvas.
It's been quiet on my blog lately thanks to my 8 month old cutie, but I have been working in my studio a bit--here is a recent still-life. I still love doing these! So fun!
Dear Friends, Please join me for Open Studios at Cubberley Studios this coming weekend. I will have my studio doors open from 11-5 pm. About 15 of the other Cubberley Artists will also be open. 4000 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, Room E-6. I will be showing a mix of pastels and oil paintings. More information and samples of artwork are available atwww.cubberleyartists.comandwww.amgallery.net. All the best, Ann McMillan 650-438-2752 www.amgallery.net annmcmillan.blogspot.com Mountain View, California. Here are a few samples of available work:
Valley Impression, 24 x 24 inches, oil.
Up the Mist Trail to the Falls, 24 x 36 inches, oil.
Hi Everyone, Please join me and my studio mates at Cubberley Community Center this weekend for an art party--works for sale, open monotype press, printing workshop, art supply garage sale, a raffle for a collection of donated artworks and other art making opportunities from the studios of 22 artists! E, F and U wings from 1-5 pm.
Here are a two recent works that I have in the studio right now:
Kiwis and Strawberries, 10 x 10 inches, oil.
Point Lobos Water, 30 x 20 inches, oil.
Monday, October 11, 2010
Two new plein air paintings from Point Lobos in Carmel... both are 10 x 10 inches. The day I painted these, the air was a soft 86 degrees, shorts weather in Carmel! It was lovely to be warm and plein air painting at the same time--a rare occurrence.
Wednesday, August 25, 2010
Figs, 10 x 10 inches, oil.
Still-life is refreshing and relaxing to paint--I love the freedom to simply observe and record, rather than the design, attempt, redo, edit that other types of work I do require.
Tuesday, June 29, 2010
Marsh Colors, 6 x 6 inches, oil, $150.
Lodi Barn, 6 x 6 inches, oil, $150.
Lockford Crossing, 6 x 6 inches, oil, $150.
This show features a juried batch of artists each completed fifty paintings in fifty days. I have finding the project quite fun and rewarding. The most enjoyable part of the process is seeing the wide variety of appraoches that the artists bring to a rigid framework.
If you would like to purchase a work before the opening day, please email me--batch discounts available. I will need to keep the work on hand for opening day, but after the reception you can take it home with you or have me mail it to you.
